We made it to 2026 and I didn’t even fill y’all in on our holiday adventures, so let me back track a bit.
Over the Thanksgiving break we were feeling pretty brave and decided a 10 hour road trip with our 3 and 5 year old sounded fantastic. So, we loaded up the car and headed to the Midwest to visit our family.

Honestly, the boys did pretty well. We stayed over night in Dallas to shorten the trip a bit, but we still spent about 8ish hours in the car. We made several stops along the way of course and finally made it to our finally destination, Olathe, KS.
After checking in to the hotel, we immediately headed over to my little brother house to see everyone. The boys were ecstatic to see their only cousins, which made the long drive more than worth it.
The next day we kind of just hung around town, met up with the family, and went out to Scheel’s , which we don’t have anywhere near us is Texas. Honestly, we spent quite a bit of time there letting the kids play and explore while we all shopped. This place is giant, with its own Ferris Wheel and countless other sights to see.

The final day we decided to check out the Sea Life aquarium in Kansas City (since the boys are obsessed with all things sea creatures). We had a great time!

A quick little trip to the Midwest was exactly what we needed.
