Spooky Season Shenanigans

For the boys fall break this year, we decided to go to one of our favorite places, Jellystone.

Two years ago we went to the Jellystone in Waller, TX and really enjoyed the festivities, so we figured Jellystone, Tyler (our favorite location) would be just as fun.

We arrived on Thursday and were greeted with beautiful, sunny, warm weather. During nonpeak season the pool and hot tub are open but the waterpark isn’t open until Saturday. This was fine with us, we enjoyed the pool and soaked up the sun because the next day was cold and windy.

We knew a cold front was coming, but the sun still came out and we were able to do several other activity despite the chilly wind. We played basketball, mini golf, went to the playground, tested out the zip line and enjoyed the new ropes course they just opened up.

The next day the sun came out, the water park was open, and the boys had a blast (is that as only about 75 out but the waterpark is heated!)

This year’s Halloween festivities included a golf cart trunk or treat, glow stick hay ride, magic pumpkins planting, and a haunted trail (it was actually pretty spooky).

We booked a smaller cabin this time around, and as much as I love Jellystone, I was a little disappointed. It was pretty outdated and not as clean as I preferred. I did contact the office and they brought me a new shower curtain so that was a step in the right direction. I also left feedback about my experience so hopefully they take that into consideration, but we shall see.

Overall, we had a fantastic, but chilly, fall break. We highly recommend Jellystone!

Side note: There is a FANTASTIC little coffee shop in the neighboring town of Hawkins that we absolutely love! If you’re ever in the area, check them out, Coffee Rig ☕️
