Imperial Beach: Beautiful beach, beach shops, great pier, lots to do and see
It was really busy the afternoon we went, they were preparing for a festival the next day. The weather was overcast the day we visited as well but we were able to see he beginning of the sand castle tournaments. I really enjoyed the small beach town, there was so much to do!

Silver Strand State Beach: Not very crowded, beautiful views, clean sand, clear water
We spent about 3 hours relaxing on this beach. We packed up the car with our beach chairs, novels, and cooler and spent a fabulous morning on the beach people watching. This beach is located in Coronado, which is another gorgeous beach town.

La Jolla: crowded, but worth the parking hassle for the amazing views
We stopped by La Jolla on the way to LA just to see what all the hype was about. The recreational beach part was very crowded and there was no where to park. We drove a little farther down the beach and found parking in the perfect location for a few picture ops.

Torrey Pines Black’s Beach: low-key, not crowded at all, relaxed atmosphere
We stopped by Black’s beach on the way out just to check out the views. We saw tons of paragliders soaring from the cliffs. It was a pretty cool sight to see, especially up close. Also note, Black’s is known for topless tanning.
The Santa Monica Pier
I’ve visited the pier a few years ago but it was in November and it was nothing compared to this experience. The pier was full of people, but didn’t feel overly crowded. It is one of my favorite locations in CA and I can’t really explain why. The people, the activities, the shops, the performers, the food and the views….I love it all ❤️
